Tigers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Orioles
The Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.

Detroit turned a fine outing from starter Andy Cooper into a victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Comerica Tigers Park. The final score was 2-1 in 11 innings. Detroit goes to 16-16.

The Tigers got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Tony Phillips. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Tigers.

"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said Tigers manager .
