The Chicago White Sox beat the Boston Red Sox, 6-2. Chicago starter Eddie Cicotte pitched a gem. The loss puts Boston at 20-15.

Chicago right fielder Shoeless Joe Jackson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 46th hit of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 5-1.

"I had my mind made up to go the distance," said Cicotte.
