Royals Dealt 4-1 Home Loss
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Houston and Kansas City from playing their scheduled game.
Houston Astros starter Shane Reynolds turned a whale of an effort into a win over the Kansas City Royals. The final score was 4-1, Houston. Reynolds, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in wins with 4, went the distance for Houston. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits.
The Astros benefited from a costly error in the top of the second. With Dickie Thon at bat and Houston leading 1-0, the Kansas City miscue allowed Houston to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Houston skipper .
Houston has now won 5 in a row.
