Baltimore left-hander Dave McNally pitched his team to victory over the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The final score was 5-2. Stu Miller locked down his 8th save. Texas is 13-15 after the defeat.

Ken Williams had a big 2-run double for the Orioles in the top of the third inning. With Baltimore leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Fergie Jenkins and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orioles ahead, 4-0.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said McNally.
