Serrell, Astros March to 8-2 Victory
|
The Houston Astros downed the Minnesota Twins, 8-2. The hitting star was second baseman Bonnie Serrell. Serrell was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Astros. Andy Porter picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-0. Houston goes to 3-0.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Lance Berkman? The Houston left fielder had a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Astros on top, 5-2. For the game, Berkman had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager .
