Nationals Topple Cubs, 4-2

The Washington Nationals knocked off the Chicago Cubs, 4-2, in National League action at Wrigley Field. Washington designated hitter and Matanzas, Cuba, native Martin Dihigo had an outstanding performance. Pedro J Martinez wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save. Washington now owns a record of 69-60.
Washington needed the clutch hitting of Alfonso Soriano to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Nationals on top, 2-0. For the game, Soriano had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"When you win, you always have confidence," said Washington skipper . "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."
