Phillies Winners, 4-1, Over Dodgers
|
The Philadelphia Phillies got a marvelous performance from pitcher Aaron Nola. The right-hander kept the Los Angeles offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Philadelphia victory at Citizens Bank Park. Mitch Williams closed out the game, earning his 30th save. The Phillies lead the National League Eastern Division by 3½ games.
Chuck Klein, who is tied for 5th in the NL in RBI with 76, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Philadelphia right fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Phillies in front, 2-1.
Nola called the win "a collective effort."
