Nationals Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Miami
|
The Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals met at Nationals Park to settle a score.
Starting pitcher Martin Dihigo was a major factor in the 6-2 Washington Nationals triumph over the Miami Marlins. The winner was Mel Rojas in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kevin Gregg took the loss. Earning the save was Tim Burke. He's now cashed in 35 of 39 save opportunities.
The Nationals got a big hit from pinch hitter Jose Vidro. In the bottom of the sixth, Vidro smacked a 2-run double off Miami pitcher Kevin Gregg. It was his 3rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Nationals were ahead, 3-2.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Dihigo. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
The Nationals now have a record of 67-57 with the win over Miami.
