Braves Losers, 3-1, Versus Washington
|
Turner Field was the site of a tense game between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.
Washington Nationals starter Steve Rogers found his groove in his team's 3-1 win over the Atlanta Braves. Rogers picked up the win for Washington, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 10-12. Tim Burke earned the save, his 34th in 38 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Washington, had it not been for Juan Soto, the 22-year old right fielder . Soto contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Washington up, 1-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Washington skipper .
Washington, now 66-55, holds down second place in the National League Eastern Division.
