Marlins Handle Rockies, Nab 6-4 Win
|
The Miami Marlins picked up a win, 6-4, over the Colorado Rockies at Marlins Ballpark. Buster Clarkson led the charge. The Unknown native was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Miami. Miami reliever Guillermo Mota was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Brian Fuentes took the loss. Josh Beckett, credited with the save, is now 2 for 5 in save opportunities.
Miami took a 6-4 lead on Clarkson's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Brian Fuentes in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Miami to the win.
Said Miami manager : "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The Marlins have now won 5 straight.
