Rockies Fall to .500 After 2-0 Loss to Marlins

The Miami Marlins called upon starter Sandy Alcantara, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Colorado Rockies, 2-0. Alcantara, now 5-12, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Miami is in last place in the National League Eastern Division with a record of 58-64.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Marlins had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Miguel Cabrera hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Juan Padron and made the score 1-0, Marlins. Cabrera was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cabrera said after the game.
