Los Angeles had no answer for 27-year old right-handed pitcher Stan Coveleski. The Cleveland Indians starter stymied Angels hitters, helping the Indians cruise to victory, 6-0. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Indians hope to make a postseason run.

The Indians got a big at-bat from center fielder Kenny Lofton. For the game, Lofton went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Cleveland a 2-0 lead.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Coveleski said after the game.
