Chicago turned a good effort from starter Clark Griffith into a win over the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field. The Cubs won the game, 6-2. The Cubs now have a record of 47-66.

Billy Williams hit a run-scoring triple off Chris Hammond in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Cubs in front, 3-2. Williams had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
