Giants Use Late Rally to Win
|
The San Francisco Giants grabbed a win, 4-2, over the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings at Dodger Stadium. San Francisco left fielder Barry Bonds was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jason Schmidt picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Kenley Jansen suffered the loss. The first-place Giants sport a record of 65-46.
Bonds had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Kenley Jansen, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Giants a 4-2 lead. It was the 25th home run of the year for Bonds.
"Pedal to the metal" is how San Francisco manager described his team's approach.
