Streaking Brewers Win Again, 4-3
|
In a close game at Busch Stadium, the Milwaukee Brewers edged the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3, in 13 innings. Milwaukee first baseman Prince Fielder stood apart with his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Milwaukee has won 8 straight, while St. Louis has lost 4 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Ellie Rodriguez came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing St. Louis pitcher Jason Motte, he hit a 0-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Milwaukee on top, 4-3.
"Everybody is chipping in right now," said Fielder. "That's what makes it so much fun."
