Johnny Sain was locked in. The right-hander led the Atlanta Braves to a 3-2 win against the Chicago Cubs at Turner Field. The win went to Kevin Millwood in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kerry Wood took the loss. The Braves go to 52-55, putting them last in the National League Eastern Division.

Ronald Acuna Jr. drove in one run for Atlanta. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Acuna Jr., who is tied for 7th in the NL in stolen bases with 21, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Chicago hurler Kerry Wood, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Braves a 3-2 lead.

"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Chicago manager .
