Cardinals Win, 4-3, Versus Padres
|
Max Lanier had a strong outing for the St. Louis Cardinals against the San Diego Padres at Busch Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Jason Motte, now 4-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. St. Louis, now 54-51, holds down second place in the National League Central Division.
Albert Pujols did the little things right to help the team against the Padres. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he hit into a double play that put St. Louis in front, 4-3.
Lanier called the win "an overall solid one."
