Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs.

The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, taking down the Chicago Cubs, 4-0. Starting pitcher Pete Alexander was a big reason why. Philadelphia, now 59-43, holds down first place in the National League Eastern Division.

Alexander, who was born in Elba, Alabama, threw 103 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing no runs.

"Pete had himself a pretty good evening," said Philadelphia manager .
