The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Miami Marlins, 6-4, in National League action at Miller Park. Milwaukee pitcher Leon Day had a standout performance. Derrick Turnbow stitched up the save, his 2nd. The win makes Milwaukee 45-57.

Cecil Cooper had a big 2-run double for the Brewers in the bottom of the third inning. With Milwaukee trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Kevin Brown and swatted a double to right. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brewers ahead, 3-2.

"Leon gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Milwaukee manager .
