Reds Win with Late Heroics
Arizona third baseman Matt D Williams had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Williams was 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as Cincinnati beat the Diamondbacks, 6-5, in 13 innings. Cincinnati reliever Noodles Hahn picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Chad Qualls absorbed the loss. Cincinnati now sports a record of 50-47.

The Reds got a clutch hit from second baseman Bid McPhee. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Reds.

"We've got great fans," said McPhee. "I hope they got what they came for."
