Philadelphia beat Atlanta on the strength of starting pitcher Zack Wheeler's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-0. Wheeler got the win, improving to 9-7. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Picking up his 23rd save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Mitch Williams.

Mike Schmidt had a big 2-run home run for the Phillies in the bottom of the first inning.
