Phillies Beat Braves, 4-2
|
The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves, 4-2. Doing his part was third baseman Scott Rolen, who went 2-3 with a home run. Their 55-40 record puts the Phillies first in the National League Eastern Division.
In the bottom of the sixth, Philadelphia first baseman Mike Schmidt put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 13th home run of the year. Atlanta pitcher Tom Glavine served it up. Just like that, the Phillies were ahead, 4-2.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Rolen.
