Ed Whitson propelled his team to victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. The final score was 3-2, San Diego. Trevor Hoffman closed the game out for San Diego, earning his 24th save. The last-place Brewers have lost 9 consecutive games.
Rap Dixon came through for San Diego when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a two-strike curveball to right field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
"I'm never the type of guy that will go in there and flip the table," Milwaukee manager said. "At this point, it's up to the players to say 'This is not good enough.'"
