Williams Goes Deep Twice, Helps Cubs Top Dodgers, 6-0
The Chicago Cubs knocked off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-0, at Dodger Stadium. Billy Williams was a big reason Chicago won. The left fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Roosevelt Davis went 7.1 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits. The right-hander struck out 4 and walked 5. With the win, he's now 5-7 this season. The 4th-place Cubs improved to 43-52.

With Chicago leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Williams batted against Los Angeles pitcher Fernando Valenzuela. Williams hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season put the Cubs on top, 5-0.
