The performance of Francisco Lindor proved critical in helping New York beat Atlanta, 5-4. The Mets shortstop was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Picking up his 19th save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Seaver. New York, now 51-44, holds down third place in the National League Eastern Division.

Lindor hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second to help the New York cause. The single, which was hit off Warren Spahn, allowed New York to take a 1-0 lead.

"Good win for us," said Lindor. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
