Colorado Makes Cincinnati 7-0 Losers
|
The Colorado Rockies stopped the Cincinnati Reds, 7-0, behind an impressive performance from Todd Helton. The 26-year old first baseman made life miserable for Cincinnati pitching. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. By defeating Cincinnati, the 4th-place Rockies improved to 42-47.
Colorado took a 2-0 lead on Helton's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which he hit off Johnny Cueto in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Colorado to the win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Helton told the Colorado News. "It's as simple as that."
