Phillies Dealt 6-2 Loss
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Citi Field.
New York second baseman Jeff McNeil contributed significantly to his team's 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. McNeil, who is tied for 5th in the NL in doubles with 26, went 4 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Mets. The setback makes Philadelphia 50-36.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when McNeil hit a slider from Zack Wheeler for a run-scoring single, putting New York up, 2-1.
McNeil said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
