Atlanta Pockets 3-2 Win Over Arizona
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Atlanta Braves and the Arizona Diamondbacks, 28-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Sain proved to be the difference. The Atlanta right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Braves win. Craig Kimbrel earned save number 15. The Braves now own a record of 39-46.
Del Crandall had a big run-scoring double for the Braves in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Atlanta leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Zac Gallen and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 3-0.
"We'll pocket this win," said Crandall, "and then go after another."
