In a low-scoring game between Minnesota and Texas, Ted Trent was fantastic. The Twins right-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2014 draft, helped his team beat the Rangers, 2-1, in 10 innings. Minnesota reliever Joe Nathan was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jeff Russell. Firpo Marberry wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.

Minnesota used a timely hit from Sam Rice to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Twins ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Trent.

Texas falls to 7-12.
