Miami Triumphs with Late Surge

The Washington Nationals got a sterling performance from designated hitter Martin Dihigo, but the Miami Marlins still prevailed, 4-2. Dihigo threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The Marlins now have a record of 40-42.
Miami took a 4-2 lead on Miguel Cabrera's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Cabrera hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Pedro J Martinez shaking his head.
"I thought we played a nice game," Cabrera told the Miami Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
