|
Los Angeles Dodgers starter Orel Hershiser was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1. Eric Gagne was called on to finish, recording his 18th save. Los Angeles, now 47-37, holds down second place in the National League Western Division.
Shohei Ohtani, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in total bases with 190, had a timely hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Los Angeles designated hitter hit a 2-run single. That put the Dodgers in front, 3-1.
Ohtani called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
