Late Rally Leads to 4-1 Nationals Triumph
Henry McHenry pitched a gem to lead Washington to victory over the Atlanta Braves, 4-1, in 16 innings. Stephen Strasburg snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Phil Niekro suffered the loss. The win lifted the Washington record to 45-36.

Washington got a knockout punch from Gary Carter. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 16th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I'm proud of the way we played. It's fun playing baseball like that," said Nationals manager .
