Brewers Make Giants 9-5 Losers
The performance of Cecil Cooper proved critical in helping Milwaukee beat San Francisco, 9-5. The Brewers first baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The first-place Giants dropped to 46-34.

Christian Yelich had a big 2-run home run for the Brewers in the top of the third inning. With Milwaukee leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Tim Lincecum, who is tied for 6th in the NL in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Brewers on top, 4-1.
