Brewers Spill Nationals, 4-1
|
Conditions were not ideal but Milwaukee and Washington were able to put their game in the books.
Milwaukee Brewers starter Leon Day was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the Washington Nationals, 4-1. The 4th-place Brewers are 34-42.
Christian Yelich had a big 2-run home run for the Brewers in the top of the first inning. With Milwaukee leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Henry McHenry, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in wins with 10, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Brewers on top, 3-0.
Yelich said afterward that "winning is the goal."
