Marcell Ozuna was a major factor in the 5-3 Miami win over Pittsburgh. The Marlins left fielder went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Robb Nen. The Marlins saw their win-loss record go to 34-41. At the same time, the Pirates fell to 36-43.

Miami took a 3-2 lead on Ozuna's 15th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Jesse Tannehill in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Miami to the win.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Marlins manager .
