The New York Mets picked up a win at Dodger Stadium, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Terris McDuffie was an essential part of his team's success. McDuffie, the winner, moves to 3-6. He threw 7.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Tom Seaver earned his 13th save in 14 chances.

Tommie Agee delivered a big hit for New York. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
