Giants Drop 10-5 Decision
|
The New York Mets stopped the San Francisco Giants, 10-5, at AT&T Park. The Mets got a big game from Cleon Jones, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. With the win, New York upped its record to 38-38.
Jeff McNeil had a big grand slam home run for the Mets in the top of the fifth inning. With New York leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Carl Hubbell, who is tied for 6th in the NL in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 7-0.
"We're producers not directors," said Jones. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
