In a low-scoring affair between the Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals, pitcher Sandy Alcantara was the difference between victory and defeat. The Miami right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Marlins win. The save went to Robb Nen, his 16th this season. By defeating St. Louis, the 4th-place Marlins improved to 33-38.

J.T. Realmuto aided the Miami cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

Alcantara told a Miami Herald reporter that the win made him feel "terrific."
