Eldred, Milwaukee Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Milwaukee took on Cincinnati in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Cal Eldred, in particular, was fantastic. The Milwaukee right-hander helped his team snag the win, 1-0. Earning his 18th save of the year was Rollie Fingers. The Brewers, at 28-40, inhabit last place in the National League Central Division.
Eldred delivered a quality start for Milwaukee. The 6-foot-4 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 1 hit over 7.1 innings of work.
Eldred told reporters after the game: "Close wins always feel extra good."
