Los Angeles Gets 4-1 Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a sterling performance from pitcher Urban Shocker, but the Los Angeles Angels still prevailed, 4-1. Shocker threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The win went to Mike Witt in relief. His record improves to 1-2. B J Ryan took the loss. With the loss, Baltimore sinks to 11-11.
The result might have been different, had it not been for top prospect Willard Brown. Brown had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Angels ahead, 2-1. For the game, Brown had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Said losing manager : "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."
