Rockies Bang Out 7-1 Win Versus New York
|
The New York Mets had their hands full with Colorado Rockies starter Nip Winters, who frustrated New York hitters while leading Colorado to a comfortable, 7-1 win. Colorado is now 30-34.
Todd Helton cracked a home run off Bill Drake in the bottom of the first. His 3-run blast put the Rockies on top, 3-0. In all, Helton had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We won," quipped Helton. "All's right in the world."
