Dodgers Handle San Francisco, Snag 5-2 Win
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers tallied a win at AT&T Park, throttling the San Francisco Giants, 5-2. Starting pitcher Don Sutton was a big reason for his team's success. The winner was Sutton. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Joe McGinnity. Takashi Saito picked up the save for Los Angeles, his 5th of the year.
Jackie Robinson hit a 2-run triple off Joe McGinnity in the top of the fourth, which put the Dodgers in front, 3-2. In addition to the triple, Robinson had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Sutton said after the game.
Los Angeles, now 42-28, holds down first place in the National League Western Division.
