Washington Nationals starter Martin Dihigo was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-2. Jeff Reardon snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Brandon Webb suffered the loss. The Nationals bumped their record to 34-27 with this latest triumph.

In the bottom of the third, Washington designated hitter Juan Soto had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Soto stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Washington. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a walk.
