Cubs Win, 5-4, Versus Philadelphia
|
Philadelphia got a terrific game from designated hitter Lefty O'Doul. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chicago, 5-4. O'Doul hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Chicago is now 27-34, Philadelphia 38-20.
Kiki Cuyler was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cubs designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Cuyler said.
