Rockies Zap Giants, 5-0
|
Colorado Rockies pitcher Dick Redding whisked his team past the San Francisco Giants, 5-0. Redding, now 4-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The defeat makes San Francisco 34-26.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Coors Field seemed to enjoy watching the National League action.
"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Redding. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."
