Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Nationals
Colorado designated hitter Dan Kennard had a good game, even if his team did not. The Rockies dropped a 7-6 decision to Washington at Nationals Park. Kennard went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Washington, now 30-25, holds down third place in the National League Eastern Division.

Washington took the lead, 7-6, on Martin Dihigo's 13th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Colorado pitcher Kevin Ritz in the bottom of the eighth.
