Phillies Fell Braves, 4-1
|
Spirited fans greeted the Atlanta Braves for their clash with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Phillies third baseman Scott Rolen left his imprint on his team's 4-1 win over the Atlanta Braves. Rolen hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Philadelphia in the contest. The Phillies sit in first place in the National League Eastern Division with a record of 34-19.
Rolen had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Tom Glavine, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Phillies a 3-1 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Rolen.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Phillies manager , "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
