Crandall goes 3-for-4, Supercharges Braves Offense
|
Del Crandall knocked in 4 runs to help Atlanta beat San Diego, 9-6. Crandall produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Johnny Sain went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander struck out 1 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 3-6 this season. At 21-32, Atlanta is in last place in the National League Eastern Division.
With Atlanta leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Crandall hit a fastball from Bruce Hurst for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Braves ahead, 3-0.
"Whenever I help the team," said Crandall, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
