|
Zack Wheeler, despite pitching a good game, was disappointed in the outcome: a tough, 3-2, defeat for the Philadelphia Phillies at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers at Citizens Bank Park. The winning pitcher was Mike Caldwell. He's now 6-5. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits for the Brewers. Rollie Fingers picked up the save for Milwaukee, his 15th of the year.
Making an impact for Milwaukee was left fielder Christian Yelich. Yeli drilled a 2-run home run off Zack Wheeler in the top of the fourth. For the game, Yelich went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager .
With this game in the books, Milwaukee is 21-31, Philadelphia 30-19.
