White Sox Take Nail-Biter Over Mariners
The home squad pulled out a thrilling walk-off win.

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners, 6-5, in 11 innings. Heavy Johnson, who leads the AL in RBI with 20, played a big role. Johnson went 4-6 with 3 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the White Sox in the win. Hoyt Wilhelm got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the 11th. With Chicago trailing 5-4, Johnson hit a changeup from Arthur Rhodes for a 2-run double. In the blink of an eye, the White Sox had a walk-off win.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager .

The Mariners drop to 9-11 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2014 season.
